This lovely make it yourself kit has all the spices and instructions to make a homemade Spiced Orange Gin – really delicious as a warming snifter in the winter months.  Full instructions provided and Old Hamlet has even weighed out a complex mix of botanicals for you.

How to make Orange Gin

Add the 225g sugar mix to a 1 litre airtight jar.  Thoroughly clean the skin of 1 lemon, 2 oranges and 1 clementine.  Peel the skin of the lemon and oranges, taking as little excess pith as possible.  Put the citrus peels into the jar.  Using the cloves, stud the clementine and place this into the jar.  Finally, add the remaining Botanicals.  Open a 750ml bottle of lightly flavoured gin and pour in.  Gently stir with a clean spoon. Store somewhere cool and dark.  Shake daily for a week, then leave for 8 weeks.  When ready, take a large mixing bowl or jug and strain the Orange Gin into this using a kitchen sieve.  Discard the botanicals and clementine. Place the muslin square over the sieve and refilter the Orange Gin to remove any remaining botanicals.  Pour into a bottle and seal.  Ideally, leave for 2 years, but it can be drunk immediately.

This kit, also, makes an excellent Orange Vodka – simply switch gin for vodka.
